Ren Min Bi (RMB) is the sole legal currency in China. The unit used for the RMB is Yuan and ithas the smaller denominations of Jiao and Fen (1Yuan = 10 Jiao = 100 Fen).
RMB is issued in both note and coin forms. The denominations for paper notes are 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Yuan, 5, 2 and 1 Jiao; and the denominations for coins are 1 Yuan, 5 and 1Jiao.
Currency Exchange: GBP, HKD, USD, EUR, JPY, CAD and other foreign currencies can be changed to RMB in the banks. The Bank of Communication and the Bank of China near the east gate of CSUFT are available for such services. Please do not exchange your money with others casually in case of suffering economic losses. When changing money, you will need to show your passport or residence certificate. Specific questions can be consulted upon at the various banks.
